The building had been vacant for most of a decade. The wallpaper, carpet, and ceiling tiles were all worn and stained from neglect.
-
The layout amounted to a large L shape with offices lining both internal and external walls.
-
My design called for a large open space in the front of the office, to serve as a reception / lounge / cafe area.
-
I chose a bold shade of gray for the primary wall colors, with bright green and deep blue for accent.
-
The carpet in the front of the space was pulled up to make room for the faux wood vinyl flooring.

-
To provide a feeling of openness to the rest of the space, the outer offices got new windows.
-
-
An example of the finalized color palette, a bright green accent wall with opposing gray.
-
The finished lounge area. Most of the "casual" furniture was sourced from Crate and Barrel.
-
The secondary conference room held four modular tables that were wheeled and would fold down, perfect for a multi-purpose space.
-
-
The primary space was filled with three sets of four cubicles from steelcase. These held the service and sales staffs and acted as functional group spaces.
-
Plenty more steelcase furniture for the cafeteria area. Used daily for lunches and impromptu meetings, this area needed heavy-duty commercial furniture.
-
The front accent wall and the cafeteria's side wall were decorated with framed photography of employees from company trips.
-
The waiting area displayed numerous company awards and press pieces, again furnished with commercial-grade seating.
